LAS VEGAS, NV — Four NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series teams were penalized on Friday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for L-1 infractions. NASCAR, penalized last week’s race winner at Daytona (Grant Enfinger) as well as his ThorSport Racing teammates of Johnny Sauter and Matt Crafton to go along with GMS Racing’s Tyler Ankrum for violations found during inspection on Friday morning from the Nevada race track.
All four teams were found in violation of the same penalty — Sections 18.104.22.168 (engine reservoir tank) and 20.20 (assembled vehicles overall rules) for aerodynamic panels not permitted/engine oil reservoir tank mounting brackets/supports.
NASCAR docked each driver 10 points as well as each team 10 car owner points.
In terms of points now, Enfinger still remains as the leader with just a one point lead on Austin Hill. The other three though took a hit.
Sauter, fell from third to ninth, Ankrum losing 10 spots from 11th to 21st and Crafton down from 17th to 22nd.
